sushi night.

Michael and I have been doing this thing where we pick a country and try to make a few traditional dishes from there. We started with Jamaican, and we've done Greek/Mediterranean, Indian, and on friday night we did Japanese. We made sushi, and Miso soup. We usually cook at the Adams home, and they have been great sports about trying everything and telling us what was good and what wasn't. Sushi was so fun to make, and fairly easy. We used imitation crab, salmon, seasoned tofu and veggies like carrots, cucumber, and avocado for fillings. We could have changed a few things about the soup, but it ended up being fine. For dessert we had ice cream with a sweetened red bean (traditional Japanese flavoring) paste mixed in and fruit and almond jelly on the side. Also taro mochi balls, which weren't a favorite around the table but I liked them. Over all we enjoyed making everything and we have extras so we can do it again very soon! yummm.

Read about Elizabeth's coffee adventures
here. She's pretty cool.

terrarium.

I built a terrarium in my fish bowl (r.i.p. stewart) the other day. I planted some wheatgrass. I've tried to grow wheatgrass two times before this and that didn't work out to well. I ended up with (on a small scale) something that slightly resembled a field that had been in a drought for 10 years. Buuuut I'm trying again and I have a good feeling about my little sprouts.

orientation.

IGOTHIREDATSTARBUCKSINBARNES&NOBLE! So there's that, and I had orientation today. It was boring to say the least (5 hours on selling books and I work in the cafe - awesome), but soon I'll be whipping up yummy coffee creations and telling you what's best to get from the pastry bar. Yay!
Also I wore this today.
Headband/scarf: thrifted (it's the same one from all the other outfits.)
Top: Forever21
Jeggings: Forever21
Shoes: Target!
So yes, I bought a pair jeggings. But before you think hateful things, you should know that they are unbelievably great. I want 300 pair. They are so comfy and they go with e-ver-ything. And those shoes are the best thing I've bought from target, maybe ever. Ican'tstopwearingthem. I've worn them almost every day since I purchased them. The balloons are in celebration of getting a job. woo!

Father'sDay

I know it's not Father's Day yet but I don't know If I'll have internet on actual Father's Day and I just want to give a shout out to this guy because he's really cool for real. My dad is one of my best friends. He's taken care of me and shown me what a good parent is, and I really appreciate it. I love you daddy!
